Introduction:

The Buddhist Holy Bible by Ms. Yang Xiu He is a summary of the essential religious thoughts of exoteric Buddhism. The Vietnamese version was published by Matgiao (Secret Buddhism) Friendship Association in the USA around 1984, with three successive editions, of 1000 copies each. First edition published by Friendship Association in Colorado, second by Matgiao Friendship Association in Washington, DC, Virginia, and the 3rd by Matgiao Friendship Association in California. The books were distributed for free to the Buddhist temples and Vietnamese people overseas.

A ‘meant to be’ meeting in Texas USA

PC Lin, a Taiwanese, a Buddhist esoteric practitioner and a disciple of Master Trieu Phuoc, had once visited Yangt Xiu He, a 70 years old female Buddhist practitioner. She was apparently touched by Lin’s visit, knowing he had spent two years time making numerous contacts in Taiwan and US to find her. During their conversation, she told Lin about the time when she went into isolation in order to complete compiling her book, she had dreamed of Dia Tang Vuong (Earth-Store Bodhisattva) who gave her his approval of her work and encouraged her to finish her book. Lin on his part was telling her about Secret Buddhism and about his Master when suddenly the Deities manifested their presence through Lin by a change in Lin’s voice and imposing manner. Talking to her, the Deities revealed her most inner thoughts, telling her that she was anxious for her sons, which she admitted. She appealed to the Deities to help teach and reform her other two sons, currently living in Houston, because they grew up in Communist China and did not believe in Buddha. Afterwards, the Deity went and checked the display on her altar which included: Buddhas’ statures, pictures of Thailand and Tibetan monks, a catholic rosary and other Buddhist sutras, and scolded her for worshipping the wrong way. He took all of them down and handed her the superfluous items to be put away. Finally she was told that that she must have the picture of Lin’s Master on the altar. She promptly asked Lin for a picture of the Master as well as his birthday so that she could commemorate it. She also asked the Spirit whether she could live long enough to witness the Dragon Flower Festival. The Deity told her to put more effort in her spiritual cultivation and her wish could come true.

Both she and Lin were deeply moved by this wonderful manifestation of the Spirit. The following day, Lin had called his master and asked for his picture and birthday for Ms Yangze He, which was granted to him.

Ms. Yang, Lin and one monk in Taiwan had joined the efforts to reprint 1,000 copies of The Buddhist Holy Bible in Chinese and to distribute the books in Taiwan and US.
